Yes, I changed dates on the speeches;)
He starts out by pointing out that people have faith; "In the face of war, you believe there can be peace. In the face of despair, you believe there can be hope". He sums up a part of his past about coming to the U.S. and how he started working in the system as a lawyer. He tells what it is now up to date since Katrina (the storm), the school system, the hard working Americans, the cheating government and how bad the economy has gotten.
ReplyDeleteObama shows his understanding for the people's needs and he will do what ever he can fulfil it.
Yes, but if you think about how he first starts out by talking about his work as a laywer that must be the past, right? Talking about the present government is then the present? Telling the audience that he can change it mus tthen be the future? How does this work in your opinion?
DeleteHe compares himself with the hard-working people to show his understanding of their dissatisfaction with the government. He also talks about his experience and knowledge of the system when he worked as a lawyer, it also gives them a kind of image of him as someone who knows what is right and wrong according to the law and his own opinion. He will do what he can to get the government to move in the right direction.
Delete1. “I was proud to help lead the fight in Congress” They did not really fight with their fists.
ReplyDelete2. “All of us will trumpet those qualities” He does not mean with an actual instrument.
3. “I want to win that next battle” He does not want to shoot people with canons.
4. “If you feel destiny calling” Destiny is not a person.
5.”Usher a new birth of freedom on this Earth” Freedom is not a living thing and won’t literally be born.
